The diesel engine expels 104 bhp of unrestrained power at 4400 rpm and a remarkable max torque of 250 Nm from 1500 rpm to 2500 rpm. That makes it one of the most powerful diesel engines on the Indian road. The very economic mileage of 20.5 kmpl under Indian test condtions adds a feather in the cap. Volkswagen implores Indians to take it out for a drive to know the reason behind calling the Vento 'the best of both worlds'.

Further, this transmission helps deliver an invigorating driving experience coupled with great fuel efficiency taking it a level above in the competition. The automatic transmission acclimatizes to the driver's driving style - from relaxed cruising to an active performance. When required, the driver can even shift to the Tiptronic gearshift function.

The Volkswagen Vento has been designed to soothe the senses through both, form and content. Right from the gracefully designed headlights to the front grille, every detail every detail has been given equal importance and refinement. The comforting colours and the flawless finish are all typical of a Volkswagen. The Vento gets body coloured bumpers and sleek door handles complementing the Vento's distinct profile.
The chrome accentuation on the grille adds a touch of sophistication to the Vento. The body-coloured mirrors in the Highline variant blend naturally with the muscular body lines of the Vento. Areas most prone to unsightly scratches feature a black base for that extra punch of protection. The enhanced ground clearance adds to the car's aggressive look. The Vento's partially zinc-coated body comes backed with a 6-year anti-rust warranty. The 15" alloy wheels are sturdy and considerably lighter, thus enhancing both, ride quality and road handling
One has to just step into the interiors of the Vento to know what it feels like to get pampered. The Vento offers the best-in-class cabin space and classily selected upholstery that takes the Vento to a whole new level. The feature-packed interiors flaunt a storage section in the front doors where a 1 litre bottle can sit comfortably. Added space in the glove box serves best for sunglass storage. The foldable armrest in the rear ensures that even the passengers at the back are taken good care of. The foldable roof handles with coat hooks, cup holders and Livon fabric upholstery are a re-assurance of the quality materials used in the Vento.
The multi-function display keeps the driver well-informed of the fuel efficiency, maximum range before re-fuelling, distance travelled, performance figures and even a visual door ajar warning. The innovative SpaceMax control allows movement of the co-driver's seat while the driver still sits back forward thereby maximizing legroom. The adjustable steering wheel enhances driving experience. Comfort, safety, space and style; the Vento has it all.
A CD MP3 player with 4 speakers adds entertainment on the drive. The Vento Highline also comes with electrically adjustable outside mirrors, climatronic automatic air conditioning with rear AC vents and a remote control for central locking.

After the success of the Jetta and the Passat in India, Volkswagen has launched the New Beetle in the country. This iconic car made its world debut in 1938. It was initially called the Kafer, the German word for "beetle", from which the popular English nickname originates. Since August 1967, Volkswagen began using the name Beetle for this brand.
The Beetle, affectionately called the Bug, came into being when Adolf Hitler ordered Ferdinand Porsche to design a "people's car". Erwin Komenda, Porsche's chief designer, was responsible for the design and style of the car. When the car was launched, critics had predicted a complete failure for the Beetle because of its peculiar styling and less powerful engine, but the car proved the critics wrong and went on to make history.
The original Beetle had the longest production run of any vehicle ever from 1938-2003. The Beetle has revolutionized the world by being the best selling single design car in history with a sales record of more than 21.5 million units.
The New Beetle was introduced in 1998 and it drew heavy inspiration from the exterior design of the original Beetle. Unlike the original Beetle, the New Beetle has its engine in the front with front wheel drive and luggage storage in the rear.
In India, the New Beetle comes in a single variant. The Volkswagen New Beetle is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder In-line petrol engine. The engine is coupled by a 6-speed automatic gearbox that provides smooth manoeuvring of the car. The engine can churn out a power of 115 bhp at 5400 rpm and a torque of 172 Nm at 3200 rpm.
The engine delivers excellent acceleration and high engine performance. The car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in a cool 8.7 seconds and can touch the top speed mark of 180km/h.
The classic car complies with the stringent Euro IV emission norms. The New Beetle is economical and gives a decent average mileage of 10 km/l.

With its immortal rounded contours, the Volkswagen New Beetle is an unmistakable designer object on four wheels. The body is galvanized giving reliable protection against rusting and computer-aided production makes precision fit of all body parts and wind noise is therefore negligible. The front independent McPherson Strut with spring coils and independent suspension on the rear end with pressurized gas shock absorbers delivers a smooth ride.
The two-door, four-seater hatch makes a style statement with its exterior design. With body-coloured bumpers and the bulging door handles along with the roof mounted antenna impart a smart and sporty look to the car. The 16-inch alloy wheels with full wheel covers give a peppy look to the New Beetle. The beady headlamps commands attention and the circular tail lamps add grace to the rear fascia. The bonnet with the Volkswagen emblem is an example of outstanding workmanship. The bonnet conveys a feeling of optimism as you will feel that the car is greeting you with a smile.
Inside the New Beetle, the shape of all the switches and controls is in line with the latest ergonomic findings and user-friendly. The interior of the Beetle welcomes you with the sports interior styling and the legendary flower vase. Starting from the blue illuminated instrumentation system has the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, tripodometer, fuel gauge and gear indicator for convenience of the drive. The clock and temperature display above the rear view mirror compliment the interior design. Comfort is further enhanced by the front centre armrest with integral storage box that also has a provision for a CD changer. The MP3 compatible "gamma CD" radio with Aux-in can produce good quality sound and increase the driving pleasure. There is also a provision for an iPod in the front centre armrest. The height-adjustable front seats bring an optimal view to the driver.
With nets on the centre console and inside the trunk and pockets on the reverse of the front seats, there is always sufficient space for storage. Moreover, comfort never makes a compromise in spite of being a two-door car. The easy entry function gets the front seats slide forward to make access easier for rear passenger.
Other functional features include remote keyless entry, full power accessories, heated front seats, 3-spoke tilt/telescoping, height adjustable power steering wheel with audio controls, power exterior mirrors, front seats has heating feature on, two-speed windshield wipers with 4-speed, adjustable intermittent wipe feature, heatable windshield washer nozzles, mirror control pad with joystick control, cup holders and cigarette lighter in front console, fully-carpeted lined luggage compartment, warning lights, front reading lights, coat hooks on doors and many more.

Volkswagen kept its tradition of naming its cars after prominent winds, and the name "Vento" means "wind" in both Portuguese and Italian. After the launch of the Polo in the premium hatchback segment, VW has launched the sedan variant of New Polo to compete with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki SX4 and Fiat Linea. In other countries, the sedan variant of Polo is known well Volkswagen Polo Classic, but for the Indian market the company decided to go with Vento.
With premium features and competitive pricing, VW certainly is expecting the Vento badge to click with the Indian crowd. The VW Vento is a perfect combination of comfort, style and luxury, and the German company expects it to become a market leader in its segment once production picks up pace. Both the interior and the exterior of the new Vento are contemporary and classy.
Volkswagen has launched the much awaited Vento in both petrol and diesel variants. The New Vento (petrol and diesel) will be available in two variants including Trendline and Highline. While the Trendline is available in two colours, Candy White and Flash Red, the Highline will be available in Reflex Silver Metallic, Shadow Blue Metallic, Terra Beige Metallic and Deep Black Pearl.
While the Vento was being chiselled, Volkswagen engineers paid special attention to the engine. It has been carved to deliver outstanding performance, mighty power and smooth handling in addition to great economy. The Vento offers 1.6-litre variants that come in a choice of diesel and petrol.
The Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) 16 valve, 1.6L petrol engine spews out 104 bhp of power at 5250 rpm and a max torque of 153 Nm at 3800 rpm. The Vento offers no compromise when it comes to fuel economy. Its petrol engine conveniently delivers 15.8 kmpl for the manual transmission and 14.4 kmpl for the automatic transmission under Indian test conditions.
While the Turbocharged Common Rail 1.6L diesel motor strapped in the Vento is equally refined. The new car features Volkswagen's latest Common Rail diesel technology that is incredibly fuel-efficient yet surprisingly quiet. It is crafted to convey quite an energetic show on the road while, at the same time, being fuel efficient.
Fine tuning happens to be the seal of the 5-speed manual transmission. With absolutely no effort, it delivers a positive shift action.

With its hearty design and advanced engineering that has been carved out of an ultra high-strength steel frame, the Vento offers commendable safety with a tough build that is reassuring each time the thump of the closing of the door or boot is felt. Volkswagen has finally launched its luxurious sedan, Phaeton, in the Indian market. The full-size luxury sedan was introduced at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show, and has been marketed worldwide since then. The name Phaeton has been derived from Phaeton, the son of Phoebus (or Helios) in Greek mythology.
Volkswagen Phaeton has been launched only in a single 3.6L V6 petrol engine variant with 6 Speed tiptronic gearbox. The sedan has been virtually built virtually by hand at the Transparent Factory in Dresden and features the finest materials, innovative technologies, outstanding design and extraordinary levels of comfort.
The Volkswagen Phaeton has been built on the same platform as that of the Audi A8. The new sedan from VW will be packed with fascinating features like "Climatronic" Auto AC with multi zone temperature control and Cruise control among others. The exterior maintains a very classy attitude.
The Volkswagen Phaeton is available in a multitude of colours including Campanella White, Cairo Grey, Mazeppa Grey, Tarantella Black and Arabesque-Silver. The luxury sedan from Volkswagen will directly compete with Audi A8, Mercedes Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series.
The superior engine ensures that the Phaeton reaches its destination as quickly, efficiently and above all, as comfortably as possible. The 3597 cc, 3.6L V6 petrol engine draws out 276 bhp at 6250 rpm and maximum torque of 370 Nm at 3500 rpm. Only if there is perfectly matched power transmission can the virtues of a first-class engine be converted into ride comfort and driving enjoyment.
Several well thought out running gear systems in the Phaeton ensure that engine power is brought onto the road in an optimum way. The running gear is lowered at high speeds, and raised when driving over uneven surfaces. The dynamic shift programme recognizes the driver's preferred driving style and adapts the gearshift pattern accordingly using a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. The intelligent 4MOTION all-wheel drive also comes standard in every Phaeton. A Torsen differential with sensitive reaction ensures that the distribution of power to each wheel is adapted to road conditions in a fraction of a second, thus ensuring advanced safety.

Volkswagen is finding its way to the top with the Phaeton. For the very first time the car maker is offering handcrafted luxury which will reach the porches of the worthy few. The car's presence is going turn parking lots into galleries. The high-grade materials, perfect workmanship and the elegant shape that are evident at the first glance itself shape the graceful face of the Phaeton. The clear lines from the arrow-shaped bonnet and enigmatic C pillar to the arresting rear end further put the accent on the Phaeton's beauty.
The perfectly shaped door handles, discreet chrome trim, minimum gap and joint dimensions and the door mirrors all together witness the blissful harmony of design. The vibrant, commanding overall impression is highlighted by its gleaming chrome radiator grille, streamlined bumpers with chrome trim and the expressive Bi-Xenon headlights with adaptive cornering lights and LED daytime driving lights available as an option. The darkened tail lights with LED technology give the distinctive rear end an unmistakable appearance by day and night. The Phaeton also sports a headlight cleaning system and aerodynamic windscreen wipers.
The interiors are so well designed that you don't get into it. Comfort is a given when it comes to the select fabrics, the finest leather and handpicked wood that go into a Phaeton. It's the other way around. A Memory package stores info on the individual seat adjustment, the position of the belts and mirrors, and automatically moves the steering column forward when the Phaeton is opened. The front seats are 18-way adjustable. The folding centre armrest has a storage compartment and integral cup holders.
The electric sliding/tilting glass roof guarantees plenty of fresh air and light. The multi-zone Climatronic comes with a rear control unit. The vanity mirrors are fitted flush with the headlining. The Phaeton also allows for refreshments that can be chilled in the illuminated 9-litre compressor fridge. The electric sunblind on the rear window is available with manual blinds on the rear side windows. The special structure of the blinds transforms the glare of the sun into soft light and still gives a good view.
The easy-to-use controls of the Phaeton add to driving pleasure and contribute to the elegance and exemplary design of the Phaeton's cockpit. Many of the functions can be controlled with ease by means of switches on the 4-spoke multifunction steering wheel without taking hands off the handcrafted leather-covered rim. The instrument console behind the steering contains circular dials in a classic design. The multi-colour display offers info on average speed, tyre pressures, fuel consumption and more.
The standard air suspension with electronic control adapts the Phaeton exactly in line with every situation, thereby assuring the best possible road handling. A comfort setting with soft damping assures comfortable travel; when cornering fast, damping is automatically set to be firmer in order to increase stability. The suspension is also self-leveling. It recognizes and compensates for weight differences on the vehicle.
8 airbags, ABS, early crash sensors, active head restraints, rain sensor that adjusts the windscreen speed and the park distance control add to passenger safety while travelling in the Phaeton. The convenient 8-inch touch-screen allows one to enjoy music tracks and films on the drive. There is a RNS810 music system with navigation, USB and 10 loudspeakers to offer ultimate entertainment.
