Narain Karthikeyan India’s Formula 1 driver is heard saying that a recent test in Force India’s simulator should not be taken as a sign. He feels his chances are still looking slim for 2011.
India is now part of the F1 calendar and in 2011 the Jaypee International Race track at Noida will host the Indian round. There was plenty of speculation about India’s two F1 racers to date – Karthikeyan and ex-Hispania driver Karun Chandhok being a part of the first ever Indian F1.
Karun Chandok has recently confirmed his chances of a F1 seat in 2011 is looking very slim and now Karthikeyan seems to be driving in the same track.
Narain Karthikeyan told the Times of India
“Any racing driver will get excited about driving a F1 car and it is the same with me,”
“Yes, I did a simulator test for Force India, but I cannot say anything beyond that.”
“There are so many factors that go into Formula 1 and I do not wish to say anything more than that.”
“I see myself driving in the NASCAR championship for another 10 years, but for now, I don’t want to talk about Formula 1.”.
