Renault, which had earlier entered India through a Joint Venture with Mahindra to produce Logan in 2005 later came to an abrupt halt after both Renault and Mahindra decided to part ways. This is Renault's second stint in India and the French automotive giant has already lined up huge plans for India. The all-new Renault Fluence has finally been launched in India after it was first unveiled in the 2010 Delhi Auto Show. Renault Fluence is the newest addition in the D-segment that has not seen much growth in the last few years as more cars were introduced in the C and premium D/entry E-segments due to lack of new players.
Renault Fluence is available both in diesel and petrol variants. For the first time around in India, the pricing of the Diesel variant of the Fluence is cheaper than the petrol variant. However, the petrol variant is loaded with high class features including start-stop button, cruise control, dual zone climate control etc. that justifies for its higher price. In a nutshell, the all new Renault Fluence is sure to make a style statement in the Indian car market.
Renault Fluence is available both in petrol and diesel engine option. The petrol variant is equipped with a 2-litre engine, Spark Ignition, Multipoint injection that manages to produce a maximum output of 135.4 bhp@6000 rpm and a torque of 190 Nm@3700 rpm. The petrol engine features 4 in line cylinders and has a displacement of 1997 cc. The 2-Litre petrol engine is pretty fast and can zoom from 0-80kmph in 9 seconds. The petrol Fulence features an advanced CVT II with 6 speed manual mode transmission that can be a boon for the drivers driving in the city limits.
