Japanese auto maker Mitsubishi launched the Outlander in India in October 2008. And now, the same model has been re-launched with a few cosmetic changes. The new Outlander is equipped with Theft Protection Device, Alloy Brakes and Clutch Control among others. This SUV already has a fan following in North America, Japan, Australia, Canada, and Western Europe
The all new Outlander, with its fierce front gill, looks stylish and aggressive. The five-seater SUV boasts of a classy and spacious cabin loaded with luxurious features.
The Outlander competes with the Honda CR-V and Chevrolet Captiva in the Indian market. The attractive SUV is available in a range of colours including Catwalk Silver, Haute Red, Chic Black, Cool Aqua Metallic, Vogue White, Shimmering Ash, Runway Grey, Primavera Purple and Glitterati Green.
The car is available only in a Base petrol variant. It is endowed with a 2.4L MIVEC I4 engine that delivers 168 bhp of power. The gearbox offered is a 6-speed Manual with INVECS-III CVT. The six pre-selected gear ratios can be controlled through paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
The Outlander offers an option of four wheel drive and also boasts of an advanced suspension package which includes a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link suspension combination that provides confident handling on city roads as well as on highways. The 215 mm ground clearance ensures that the underbody of the SUV is protected even on the highly rugged terrain.

The new Outlander flaunts a more aggressive line of styling. Right from the jetfighter like snout, inspired by the Lancer Evo X, to the beautifully placed headlights, everything about the new car spells power and performance.
A stunning front grill features chrome mouldings and the fog lamps are stylishly garnished with chrome. This powerful SUV gets added advantages of having muscular front and rear bumpers. New silver roof rails complete the new Outlander. There is an overall increase in the length of the SUV, courtesy the new bumpers.
The headlamps have been upgraded too. Now you have High Intensity Discharge (HID) with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS). These headlamps automatically readjust the light level depending on the road conditions.
The SUV also features welcome and coming home lights which come as standard fittings in the top-end variants. The outside rearview mirror now gets integrated indicators and automatic fold/unfold feature.
The new Outlander has got a few upgrades in its interiors too. A Rockford Fosgate entertainment system featuring an USB port, nine speakers and a woofer in the boot takes care of your auditory pleasures. Along with new leather wrapped trims, the SUV also boasts of alloy brake and clutch pedals. Above the glove compartment, you have a very useful warm/cold storage compartment.
The new Outlander has got some latest safety features too. The SUV features Anti-lock braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and a Theft protection device. A centrally located dial system, located on the center console, allows free switching between the 3 drive modes (2WD, 4WD Auto and 4WD Locked), depending on the driving conditions and the environment.
