bmwx1 01 BMW X1 SUV Spy Pictures – Before The LaunchAs we reported earlier, BMW will be launching their new SUV the X1 in Delhi on 23rd December. The new small SUV from the BMW will be based on 3-Series segment and shipped here as CKD and then will be assembled at it Chennai plant.

BMW X1 should be out in three variants including given the buyers an option to choose 1 petrol and 2 diesel versions. Carwale has nicely captured images of the new X1 which was doing round in Mumbai as you see.

BMW X1 Corporate edition will not include sunroof, CD-changer and will be included with single in-dash music system. X1 SUV will be out as a rear-wheel drive.

We speculate that the new BMW X1 will be price between Rs 21.5 lakh to 32 lakhs respectively. More details to come till then stay tuned.

45705 1 Mahindra Thar pic 1024x670 Mahindra Thar To Be Launched Before End Of This MonthMahindra has reported that it will launch the Thar as per its Facebook Page. Mahindra Thar will be offered with a 2.5-liter CRDe engine that generates 105HP @ 3800rpm and 247Nm between 1800-2000rpm.

“After all the patience you guys’ve shown, we are pleased to announce that the Mahindra Thar CRDe 4×4 will be launching by the end of this month,” the company said on Facebook.

Mahindra Thar will feature Borg Warner manual shift for 4×4, 16? wheels, 2-seater weighting in at 1750kgs.

Mahindra Thar will be offered in white, black, red and silver shades.

Renault-Nissan JV is looking to achieve its target investment in the plant and production capacity set by the Tamil Nadu government during the MoU. Belief is that it will be achieved before the seven year deadline that began 2008, confirmed a top official at Nisaan. The Japanese auto major has invested INR 2,300 crore so far in the Indian plant at Chennai as against the promised INR 4,500 in seven year from 2008. The plant currently produces the sub-compact Nissan Micra for the domestic and global markets. The Micra is the first vehicle derived from the new V-platform is exported to over 100 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

At the launch of Nissan Micra diesel version in Hyderabad, Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO, Nissan Motor India  said,”Of course we don’t need to wait for seven years. We have the production capacity of two lakh as of now and we have invested Rs 2300 crore so far. That is the current status. And we are studying the situation to increase the current capacity to four lakh.” Come 2011, the plant will begin production of the Renault Koleos and Fluence for Indian markets. Tokuyama revealed Nissan’s plans to export 1.1 lakh Nissan vehicles to Europe, Africa and Middle East countries from India.

“We have started exports to Europe in October this year. So far we exported 15000 units. We aim to export 1.1 lakh vehicles in the first year (Oct 2011) to Europe, Middle East and Africa and we will increase it to 2.1 lakh mainly Micro and other future models,” Tokuyama said.
