An Offshore engineering contractor requires a Corrosion Engineer to join them on a short term contract for 3 months in Sharjah.

Technical / Professional Expertise

Honours Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or Chemistry OR postgraduate degree in Corrosion, Metallurgy or Materials ScienceMember of Institute of Materials Minerals & Mining (MIMMM) or Member of Institute of Corrosion or NACE MemberDemonstrable experience of working in the oil and gas industry on a broad range of materials/corrosion related projects. Experience will ideally have been gained working in a consultancy environmentA basic working knowledge of corrosion control and materials used for transmission and distribution pipeline systemsKnowledge of the upstream industry, its materials/corrosion issues and its main business driversA basic knowledge of pressure systems integrity management

Competency Requirements

Enhanced Analysis and Assessment skills – ability to solve Engineering problems using engineering judgement, competencies and principlesDelivery-focused, Ability to work in a high-pressured, deadline-driven environment whilst maintaining focus on quality and attention to detail,Prioritises own workloadOrganised and proactive; Takes personal ownership to ensure achievement of goals and targetsFirst rate verbal and written communication skills, producing complex, concisely written and well presented reports and proposals
