Tata Motors is planning to launch the Automatic Transmission of Nano car. The company has witnessed lot of trouble before launch and after launch due to poor sales in the month of November 2010.
Nano team is currently working on a CVT transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission) variant of the Nano to make it simple of a common man to drive.
Tata Motors has been in discussion with a Canada-based company, Quebec to make the gearless dream come true.

Tata has already invested huge amount in Canada’s Quebec province and is in the process of signing a deal for supply of parts for gearless Nano with C-tech, a Montreal-based auto component maker.
The two companies are working on this project for two years now. CVT gearbox is an automatic gearbox with infinite gear ratios that uses the help either wheels or cones and a belt to create these infinite gear ratios.
The end result of the engine that can run as efficient as possible at various rpms and will return better mileage and a smoother driving experience than a normal automatic transmission.
Tata might launch the Nano with CVT by the end of 2011.
