Fantasising about some great cars is one of the most popular pastimes of car lovers. Daydreaming about supercars and luxury saloons can instantly turn the most boring day into an interesting one. But when we are committing the sinful crime of daydreaming about exotic cars, why not indulge our senses a little more. These are cars that even money can't buy. These dream cars are not only priceless, but impossibly rare, and in some cases, both. Some of these cars may not even exist, but they are so totally desirable and fascinating.Batman has a garage full of fantasy cars that's a source of envy for the rest of the superheroes. But we guess that the awesome Tumbler from Batman Begins must surely be one of the Caped Crusader's favourites. With huge exposed tyres and jutting angles of the bodywork, it may not look conventionally pretty but it definitely elicits a sense of awe and fear. The Batmobile, converted from a prototype military vehicle called the Tumbler by Bruce Wayne in the film, is powered by a 5.0-litre Chevrolet V8. It also splits apart at the front so that Batman can make his escape on the built-in Batpod motorcycle.
Bentley cars are all about luxury, but the company gave us a glimpse of what would happen if it deviated from its usual course and moved towards making sports cars. The Hunaudieres concept is a four-wheel-drive, mid-engined supercar with 16 cylinders and 623bhp. The car is said to be based on Lamborghini Diablo underpinnings and looked absolutely captivating. But, the company has not taken it to production, so there goes your dream of owning one.
A few people at Ferrari thought that the Enzo wasn't up to the mark or exclusive enough, and started the programme that resulted in the FXX. It is nothing but an Enzo racecar with a range of modifications done to bring about better track performance.
With the Enzo's 6.0-litre V12 bored out to 6.3 litres and power enhanced from 696hp to a nice round 800bhp, it is awesomely quick. All that power when added to the lightweight carbon-fibre construction makes the car achieve a top speed of 243mph.
Ferrari built just 30 units of them between 2005 and 2007 and priced them around £1.6 million. The only condition was that the car was only supposed to be driven at a special series of Ferrari-approved track days. A few very lucky Ferrari customers got to own these cars and the 30th FXX was given to Michael Schumacher when he originally retired from Formula One in 2006.
Jaguar, to mark its 75th anniversary, showcased the C-X75 concept car and gave the world a glimpse of what a future Jaguar supercar might look like. A production version with flowing curves like the C-X75's is a possibility, but it would be another century before anyone gets the chance to buy something with a similar engine. The C-X75 concept is equipped with powered by electricity and uses two on-board gas turbines to generate enough power for the batteries. It produces a maximum of 580bhp and an astonishing 1,180lb ft of torque.
The Lightning McQueen made its appearance in a movie as the lovable red race car which could even talk and immediately became a hit with cartoon-loving kids. The car borrows a lot from Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper. Well, this car may not be the ultimate fantasy of a lot of people, but it still scores a lot of points even with the most stony-faced of grumpy old men.
